The Widow Harun
The Shabab Monastery is one of the few Dedeist monasteries remaining outside the borders of Gezer, the others having long ago been destroyed, abandoned or fallen to various Faerunian religions. Shabab is located in a quiet section of The Toadsquat Mountains, in relatively empty Hyena territory in The Shaar. Its isolation accounts for its extraordinary longevity. The monastery is located inside a steep, twisting canyon, protected from flash floods by an ingenious system of sluices and gates built on top of the canyons by long-dead monks. The buildings themselves are carved into the rock face, presenting ornate facades from the outside. The canyon is reached by a long and winding trail through boulder-strewn foothills where the Cross of Dede is carved into many of the rocks. There are irrigated gardens inside the canyon which grow food for the monks, who also keep small numbers of sheep and goats in the scrubland above.
The abbot of Shabab is Isaac of Gezer. Zenawi is another NPC who can be found here, keeping the beehives whose honey he uses to produce Tej, the Gezerite drink, for sale to the south. Adam of Gezer visits annually.
